In many cases, building a house can offer better value than buying, especially if you’re looking for something tailored to your family’s needs. While construction costs can be comparable to purchasing an existing home, building allows you to avoid renovations and design the perfect layout from the start. We’ll work with you to make building an affordable and enjoyable process.

There are three phases to the construction process. Provided that you already have land, the 1st phase is securing your financing, which can take 30 to 60 days. In the 2nd phase, we prepare your land for your new home and acquire the appropriate permits, which usually takes approximately 30 to 45 days. The final phase is the construction of your new home and, depending on the size of the home that you choose, will take approximately 120 to 180 days.

Red Door Homes can help start your search, and we allow you to write your contract contingent on finding suitable land for your new home. Once you've found the home site of your dreams, a Red Door Homes representative will meet you at your site to do an evaluation and determine if it will be adequate for the custom house plan you have chosen. This gives you the security you need to purchase the land and make any necessary adjustments to the estimated lot preparation costs.

Yes, we are extremely flexible with our floor plans and the exterior look of your home. Most of the custom homes we build are altered in some way to meet the needs of the customer.
